COTAK Program Team
The Colorado Team Awareness Kit (COTAK) team has developed CloudTAK mobile, a new application designed to improve the COTAK user experience on mobile devices.
Developed in-house by the COTAK team, CloudTAK mobile will replace iTAK for iOS users, with an Android version planned for 2027.
CloudTAK builds on the existing web-based application available at map.cotak.gov, bringing familiar functionality and new capabilities to mobile devices.
Why We Developed CloudTAK
Over time, COTAK users have experienced challenges with iTAK, including limited functionality, performance issues, and reliability concerns. Because iTAK is developed and maintained externally, the COTAK team has had limited ability to address these issues directly.
Developing CloudTAK mobile in-house lets the team improve the app, resolve technical issues, and add new features based on feedback from COTAK users.
What to Expect from CloudTAK
CloudTAK mobile carries forward familiar TAK functionality while improving the overall user experience. These include enhanced mapping options, streamlined data management tools, improved reliability, and additional information-sharing capabilities.
The application is designed to provide a consistent experience across CloudTAK mobile and the existing web-based platform.
Initial Release and Beta Testing
A select group of COTAK users is currently testing CloudTAK mobile. During this phase, the team is gathering feedback, identifying issues, and making improvements ahead of the planned statewide release in January 2027.
Interested COTAK users can request to participate in beta testing by completing the CloudTAK Beta Interest Form.
